About The Position

Our youth activities program seeks talented, experienced tutor in all subject areas for participants between grades levels K–12. Tutors will work with participants one-on-one and/or group setting. They will also be responsible for the general safety and development, growth, and skill achievement of the participants in his/her group.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of experience tutoring children and teenagers.
• Ability to develop positive rapport with participants.
• Excellent communication skills
• CPR certification preferred.
• Proven track record of superior organization and multi-tasking.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to participate in potentially strenuous physical activity.
• Demonstrated skills in conflict mediation
• Ability to work with members, children, and staff effectively
• Supervisory/Organizational skills
• Time Management
• Must practice safety at all times

Nice To Haves

• CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Help participants with homework and other school assignments with patience and expertise.
• Ask participants about specific topics or subjects areas that are giving them trouble.
• Communicate with parents/guardians about trouble areas or any other issue that requires attention.
• Be responsible for maintaining the orderliness and cleanliness of each program area used.
• Know and understand ALL emergency procedures associated with the camp program.
• Know, enforce, and follow all safety guidelines associated with all program areas. This includes but is not limited to being responsible for your participants’ safety and their whereabouts at all times.
• If there are Camp Counselor Shifts available, they may be offered to work.
