About The Position

The Wethersfield Public Schools partner with the community and families in fostering our students' ongoing education in a safe and engaging learning environment. Webb Elementary School has an opening for a Tutor. We are looking for a motivated and dedicated professional with superior communication skills to provide student intervention support for the 2026-2027 academic year. The chosen candidate will begin the assignment on August 26, 2026, and will continue through the end of the school year (June 2027). The Tutor will work across all grade levels (K-6) to support students with direct, targeted intervention/instruction to promote student growth toward grade-level expectations and goal mastery.

Requirements

• Hold a minimum of an Associate's Degree
• Enthusiasm for helping children
• Respectful/collaborative attitude
• Ability to manage plans and drive positive results
• Patience, flexibility, and adaptability

Nice To Haves

• Elementary Teacher certification is preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

• Implement daily lesson plans for students targeting individualized support
• Work directly with students to provide routine push-in support in classrooms as well as targeted small group/one-on-one instruction both in the classroom and intervention environments
• Provide students with positive feedback and encouragement
• Support student understanding of academic concepts and demonstration of fluency skills
• Track and maintain records of student progress
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to support student needs through small group instruction, communicate goals/achievements, progress, student challenges, and changes in interventions
• Foster a positive learning environment that is sensitive to student needs and promotes increased learning performance
• Provide the building curriculum specialist and classroom teachers with regular reports of student progress toward learning goals
• Assists with all subject areas
• Provide intervention services in the areas of Reading and Math
