About The Position

The Mannes School of Music at the College of Performing Arts is seeking motivated students to serve as Tutor Generalists. This role is designed for patient and responsible individuals to support instruction. The position reports to Part-time Associate Teaching Professor Christopher Park and is ideal for students interested in careers in Music and education. This position is open to student applicants with or without Federal Work Study awards.

Requirements

• Completed or tested out of class for each class the student wishes to tutor
• Excellent content knowledge in subject matter
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to patiently and efficiently provide instructional support to other students
• Ability to self-schedule tutoring sessions, once assigned

Nice To Haves

• Recipient of a Federal Work Study Award
• Current student in a Mannes School of Music or Performer-Composer degree program

Responsibilities

• Tutor students in approved subjects as assigned by the Tutoring Coordinator
• Respond to email inquiries regarding tutoring assignments in a timely manner
• Submit timesheets and tutoring session confirmation forms in a timely manner
• Schedule tutoring sessions with assigned tutees
• Additional responsibilities as assigned to assist other students in out-of-class by tutoring and answering questions about course content taught in class.
