Tutor ELL Spanish
About The Position
This is a Non-Instructional/ ELL Tutor (World Languages) position at Beacon High School in Immokalee. The position is for a Tutor, ELL Spanish and is a one-year only position. The tutor will assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics, as well as reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness. Basic computer skills are required, and the ability to use email. The employee must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memoranda in both English and Spanish. The employee must also be able to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to parents, students, and other employees in both English and Spanish. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
Requirements
- Two years of study at an institution of higher education; or an Associate’s degree (or higher); or demonstrate through a formal state or local academic assessment (ParaPro Assessment) knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics, as appropriate and knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness, as appropriate.
- Basic computer skills required (e.g., ability to use email).
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instruction, short correspondence, and memoranda in English and in the first language.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Bilingual English and Spanish are required.
