About The Position

Fairmont Pittsburgh, a 4 diamond LEED certified luxury hotel, is located at the heart of Pittsburgh’s business, cultural and retail hub. Fairmont Pittsburgh offers superb and distinctive guest services and accommodations in a luxury setting. This role involves carrying out various functions within the housekeeping department, consistently offering professional, engaging, and friendly service. The attendant will check nightly assignments, assist with services for VIP guests, and manage cleaning supplies and cart preparation. Responsibilities include following chemical usage guidelines, reporting lost and found items, refreshing guest rooms to create an inviting return for guests, replenishing ice buckets and water bottles, cleaning rooms, making up rollaway beds, performing laundry duties, and adhering to all sanitation guidelines. Additionally, the role requires reporting engineering issues, requests, or repairs to the appropriate department, and performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Strong guest service orientation
• Able to balance a variety of conflicting priorities while providing guest service
• Weekend and open availability, often afternoon/evening shifts
• Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and /or up to 25 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience is an asset
• High school diploma and/or experience in a hotel or related field preferred

Responsibilities

• Carry out various functions within the housekeeping department
• Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
• Check nightly assignments
• Assist with services for VIP guests
• Gather all cleaning supplies and return daily
• Complete all pre-cleaning set up duties; including but not limited to, guest and cleaning supplies, linen and housekeeping cart prep
• Follow prescribed use of cleaning chemicals
• Report all lost and found items
• Refresh guest rooms by creating an inviting return for our guest
• Replenish ice buckets and glass water bottles
• Clean vacant / occupied rooms
• Make up of rollaway beds
• Laundry duties
• Follow all sanitation guidelines
• Report Engineering issues, requests or repairs to appropriate department
• Other duties as assigned
