About The Position

This role is responsible for the planning of all events – Turnaround (TA) and Campaign work. The Master Planner is accountable for leading the planning function for all Turnaround and Campaign events, including added work and campaign scope in SAP Blueprint and Primavera. They will provide direction, coaching, and prioritization to planners reporting to them, ensuring plans remain current, integrated, and execution-ready. This role works closely with the TA Block Supervisor to develop execution plans, reinforce TA/Campaign work processes, support schedule readiness, and maintain alignment to event milestones.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure field verification of approved work scope submissions.
  • Work with other planners to develop detailed plans and work activities in SAP Blueprint that will be brought into Primavera via an interface.
  • Support Master Scheduler to ensure proper resource allocation, estimated hours, coding requirements etc.
  • Confirms all work list items are in Primavera.
  • Lead, direct, and prioritize the planning team, ensuring planners reporting to the Master Planner are aligned to event milestones, planning standards, SAP Blueprint and Primavera requirements, and turnaround readiness expectations.
  • Review and assure planner-developed work plans are fit for purpose, consistently coded, properly sequenced, and integrated into the overall project file with correct logic.
  • Works with project team to ensure project scope is fully integrated into a single TA event within Primavera.
  • Accountable for Work List Revision plans ensuring they are complete and integrated into the Primavera schedule.
  • Lead scope challenge sessions, ensure scope criteria are met, and provide clear direction on scope changes, risks, and planning impacts.
  • Support the T/A Block Supervisor or T/A Event Manager in managing changes with Operations, Technical Authorities, and Engineering discipline engineers.
  • Ensures environmental plan (waste disposal, vac trucks, etc.) is developed as per the milestone plan.
  • Develop and maintain the planning tracker for all events, using it to drive planning discipline, visibility, and accountability across the planning team.
  • Update planning status for campaign maintenance events using the endorsed tracking tool.
  • Develops and understands critical path and near critical path jobs, and the ability to highlight potential risks and opportunities.
  • Provide clear planning data, risks, and recommendations to the Event Manager and Block Supervisor to support timely business decisions.
  • Lead the identification and removal of planning and execution barriers to support craft productivity.
  • Support Master Scheduler to create logical network of activities through a standard Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) in primavera.
  • Oversee schedule updating during execution, ensuring planner inputs are timely, accurate, and aligned to the agreed schedule update process.
  • Produces logic diagrams and summary bar charts.
  • Must understand and is responsible for the practical application of the AMS process.
  • Oversee materials ordered and packages developed.
  • Verify all material and services are complete (Requisition and Purchase Order) and ready for execution.
  • Verifies all bulk material and services are ordered.
  • Assist in preparing logistics plan for assigned area.
  • Works with scheduling Team to complete Turnaround Assurance Review, schedule mechanic checks, etc.
  • Assist in developing event estimate by providing Direct Field Labor hours, overheads, materials, services, equipment, etc. (Per estimate deliverables)
  • Ensures review and buy-in of the integrated schedule with key stakeholders, including contractors.
  • Coach and support LNGC and Contractor personnel on working with Primavera and SAP Blueprint, reinforcing consistent planning practices.
  • Coach and support LNGC and Contractor personnel on the schedule updating process to ensure consistent execution reporting.
  • Assist Event Coordinators and actively participate in Tabletop Exercise (TTX) for critical schedule activities.
  • Ensures compliance to plant orders, policies and procedures including MOC, quality, and work addenda processes.
  • Support continuous improvement in achieving T/A KPIs.
  • Lead feedback capture for event activities after completion, actively participate in Lessons Learned and Lookback processes, and drive continuous improvement actions with the planning team.
  • Look for opportunities to optimize event scope, plan and execute with low-cost mindset.
  • Support cost management initiative where applicable.
  • Assist TA/Campaign Master Scheduler in developing and maintaining the TA Planning/Scheduling premise.
