About The Position

Maintains athletic fields for various sports. Operates a reel mower, tractor, power-spray unit and skid steer loader. May use other grounds equipment such as trimmers, edgers and backpack and street blowers. Applies fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides to turf areas. Adheres to OSHA standards, and other applicable federal and state regulations when working with hazardous chemicals, materials and power equipment. Uses personal protective equipment as required. May drive utility vehicles to and from work sites. Performs related responsibilities as required.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of experience operating multi-gang reel mowers or related equipment in an athletic field or golf course environment.
  • Knowledge of basic turf care principles of fertilization, aeration, mowing and pest control.
  • A valid Georgia driver's license and an insurable driving record.
  • A Category 24 Pesticide License or the ability to obtain one within six months.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and to bend, stoop and twist.
