About The Position

This role is responsible for obtaining and maintaining an account on IP/GE Alliance Box, ensuring all documents and information utilized in the proper execution of Turbine Generator Outage Planning and Execution are available in current revisions. The coordinator will follow the Joint Turbine Generator Guideline for Outage Planning and Execution and the Outage Delivery Process Map. They will become familiar with and assure all tools are utilized fully, such as: Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA), IP Capital Project Tools (PPA, IPOPER,..), Turbine Generator Maintenance Contractor Measurements Form (TGMCMF), Field Engineers Performance Appraisal (FEPA), Steam Turbine Operational Reliability Management (STORM) Manual, Approved Controls Excitation Definition Process Map, Approved Installation and Startup Process Matrix, Approved Installation and Startup Process (ENH), and others. The position provides proper oversight of any activities or responsibilities delegated to others such as parts ordering and handling, oil flush, NDT/NDE or others, and properly communicates the status of any delegated activities or responsibilities to mill personnel and the GE/OEM team. The coordinator will work with OEM to identify and assure all special tooling required for any maintenance planned is available in good usable condition. They will assure that all needed parts are identified for any planned maintenance and that proper levels of critical spares are kept on hand at the mill, marking all critical spares such that they cannot be disposed of due to lack of turnover. The role accomplishes the review of power plant equipment operational and maintenance reports and performs any analysis needed to this data to support the improvement of the availability and reliability of the turbine generator.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering or related plus 5 years of experience with turbine generator systems in an industrial setting
  • Experience with Air and hydrogen-cooled generators; auxiliary systems for Gas and Steam Turbines
  • Experience with RCFA process and ability to use 5-whys, logic tree and fishbone analysis
  • Experience with Maintenance and operation of gears, pumps, condensers, compressors, heat exchangers, hydraulic/control oil and lube/seal oil systems
  • Experience with Generator maintenance; stator repair, 2 and 4 pole generator field rewinding on brushed and brushless excitation systems
  • One year of NDE experience with Magnetic Particle Testing and Dye Penetrant Testing
  • One year of Tribology, lubricant analysis and ISO codes
  • One year of SAP with regards to creating Preventative Maintenance plans and outage planning
  • One year of Emerson AMS Machinery Manager for vibration analysis
  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt certified
  • Vibration Certification CAT-I
  • Level 1 Ultrasound Inspector Certification
  • Completed one major Steam Turbine Major Inspection
  • Employer will give 2 years credit for a master’s degree in engineering
