About The Position

As part of a team working together in an FAA certified Repair Station, the Turbine Engine Technician provides high quality maintenance and repair services to PT6A engine series. This includes, but is not limited to, disassembly, cleaning, evaluating, repairing, assembling and testing turbine engines.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years’ experience in aviation maintenance environment, preferably on PT6A or PT6T series.
  • Must have own hand tools.
  • Computer skills including electronic mail, Microsoft word and Excel.
  • Ability to read and comprehend written and oral instructions in English.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team, exercising sound judgement.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and overtime as required.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Requires sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
  • Requires frequent walking, bending, and reaching to shoulder level.
  • Requires occasional squatting, lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling weight up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Requires repetitive hand movement.
  • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Ability to use appropriate safety equipment and hand tools.
  • Exposure to materials identified on Material Safety Data Sheets.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in aviation maintenance environment, preferably on PT6A or PT6T series Turbine engines.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of general office clerical procedures.
  • Strong computer skills with expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Aviation or Manufacturing Industry experience is a plus.
  • FAA issued Powerplant License preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, repair and overhaul service to PT6A turbine engines.
  • Read and interpret maintenance and overhaul manuals.
  • Replace or repair worn, defective or damaged components.
  • Disassembly, clean, evaluate, repair and assemble turbine engines.
  • Organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Read and interpret turbine engine manuals diagrams, charts and schematics.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Work and bend in limited workspace.
  • Will participate in and support safety initiatives, safe work practices and compliance.
  • Will participate in safety activities including the following: immediately reporting hazards, unsafe work practices and accidents/injuries.
  • Will follow all safety rules, FAA regulations, PPE compliance and equipment operation requirements.
  • Ability to organize and plan work adhering to deadlines; attention to detail; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to read, write, and understand the English language and to follow verbal and written instruction; multi-tasking a necessity; ability to maintain a good working relationship with co-workers and to project a positive, concerned image to the public; ability to work without supervision; ability to adjust to rapidly changing circumstances and priorities.
