About The Position

As part of a team working together in an FAA certified Repair Station, the Turbine Engine Technician provides high-quality maintenance and repair services to PT6A engine series. This includes, but is not limited to, disassembly, cleaning, evaluating, repairing, assembling and testing turbine engines. This position is at our Carrollton, Texas facility under the name of Prime Engines. Prime Turbines is a Pratt & Whitney PT6A and PT6T Engine Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) provider, specializing in aircraft engine overhaul, hot section services, and performance recovery for PT6-powered aircraft across general aviation, commercial, and special-mission operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years’ experience in aviation maintenance environment, preferably on Pratt and Whitney Aircraft Engine PT6A or PT6T series.
  • Must have own hand tools.
  • Computer skills including electronic mail, Microsoft word and Excel.
  • Ability to read and comprehend written and oral instructions in English.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team, exercising sound judgement.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
  • Minimum of at least 3 years’ experience in aviation maintenance environment, preferably on PT6A or PT6T series Turbine engines.

Nice To Haves

  • FAA issued Powerplant License preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of general office clerical procedures.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, repair and overhaul service to PT6A turbine engines.
  • Read and interpret maintenance and overhaul manuals.
  • Replace or repair worn, defective or damaged components.
  • Disassembly, clean, evaluate, repair and assemble turbine engines.
  • Will participate in and support safety initiatives, safe work practices and compliance.
  • Will participate in safety activities including the following: immediately reporting hazards, unsafe work practices and accidents/injuries.
  • Will follow all safety rules, FAA regulations, PPE compliance and equipment operation requirements.
