About The Position

To produce cooked meat chunks of blended meats that are the proper size with a firm texture. This role involves operating a steam tunnel to cook a thin sheet of blended meat, which is then cut to the desired size. The operator is responsible for ensuring the product meets specific quality standards regarding size and texture. The position also requires participation in team activities, adherence to Simmons operating systems, and performing other duties as necessary to support business objectives.

Requirements

• Experienced within a manufacturing/process environment with knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Background in manufacturing.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Perform basic math.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain company issued forklift license.
• Must be able to read, write and understand English.
• Regularly required to sit, stand and walk.
• Must wear Steel toed shoes, Ear Plugs, Hair Net.

Responsibilities

• Produce cooked meat chunks of blended meats that are the proper size with a firm texture by the removing of air, creating an emulsion, cooking a thin sheet, and cutting to the desired size a batch of blended meats.
• Accomplish room start-up procedures.
• Fill product line to extruder. Fill Extruder until the product flows.
• Adjust steam tunnel to target product temperature.
• Adjust cutter to produce target product length.
• Record all measurements on the batch sheet.
• Participates as a member of the team, fostering strong cohesiveness and resolving issues.
• Maintains familiarity with Simmons’ established operating systems and supports their objectives.
• Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
