About The Position

This role is responsible for shaping a high-impact GU/GYN oncology portfolio and transforming medical evidence into better outcomes for people living with cancer. The Tumor Portfolio Director will drive the strategic planning and execution of the GU/GYN medical portfolio, coordinating delivery across regions and functions. The position is based in Gaithersburg, US, and reports to the Project Management Team Leader for Global Medical Affairs. The role partners closely with the GU/GYN franchise lead to ensure the portfolio functions cohesantly from evidence generation and launches to scientific exchange and congress activity. The leadership will empower teams to deliver work efficiently with transparency, accountability, and measurable impact. Key objectives for the first year include unifying the tumor strategy across indications, establishing clear portfolio dashboards, streamlining governance and ways of working, and coaching a team of Indication Project Managers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business or life science
• Minimum of 7 years experience in pharmaceutical industry or regulated medical products industry
• Minimum of 3 years experience in Medical Affairs, Commercial, and R&D organizations (Global, regional, or local)
• Minimum of 3 years demonstrated project management experience in a matrix environment
• Experience working with senior stakeholders
• Comprehensive understanding of the development and commercialisation of pharmaceutical products
• Experience of successful influencing cross functionally, cross-culturally and cross-brands
• Experience of effective working in a multi-cultural, matrixed environment
• Experience working in a global setting, managing stakeholders within different time zones
• Experience preparing and/or delivering presentations to executive leadership
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
• Skilled in change management including process development and implementation, people development, organizational effectiveness, and communication
• Able to deliver high quality work outputs despite ambiguity or ever-changing environment
• Delivery focus with an ability to oversee and manage multiple project deliverables in very short timelines

Responsibilities

• Partner with the GU/GYN Franchise Head to execute a cohesive tumor strategy across indications, enabling seamless global and local delivery.
• Lead forecasting, phasing and prioritization for the franchise, aligning resources to strategic goals across the planning cycle.
• Orchestrate core deliverables including Medical Plans, Evidence Generation plans, study proposals, launch plans, congress plans and scientific exchange plans.
• Create and maintain dashboards that track progress against scorecard objectives, enabling data-driven decisions.
• Manage, train and develop a small team of Indication Project Managers; assign responsibilities, build trust and mentor for high performance.
• Ensure Medical Implementation Teams operate efficiently and stay connected with Integrated Business Teams.
• Drive adoption of medical standards to ensure compliant, consistent operations.
• Lead agenda-driven meetings with GU/GYN portfolio leadership, shaping agendas, capturing decisions and tracking actions to closure.
• Coordinate senior leadership presentations on key topics and initiatives, spotlighting progress, risks and decisions needed.
• Identify and embed best practices to simplify processes and accelerate delivery.
• Lead workstreams that drive improvements and change across broader medical and enterprise teams.
