About The Position

This role involves coordinating and overseeing the daily activities of the tube mill line to ensure production, quality, and safety objectives are met. The Tube Mill Lead will lead and support tube mill operators, monitor operations, assist with machine setups, and ensure products meet quality standards. This position requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, mechanical aptitude, and leadership skills.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma /GED required
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing and production processes.
  • Knowledge of tube mill operations, steel processing, material flow, and production equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, production schedules, specifications, and quality requirements.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to identify and resolve production, quality, and equipment issues.
  • Effective communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and coordinate workflow in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to complete production documentation.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Dependability to be consistent at work and on time.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum three (3) years of manufacturing, tube mill, roll forming, steel processing, or related production experience preferred
  • Previous experience operating tube mill, roll forming, welding, or automated production equipment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee daily activities of the tube mill line to ensure production, quality, and safety objectives are achieved.
  • Lead and support tube mill operators by providing direction, training, and assistance throughout the shift.
  • Monitor tube mill operations, equipment performance, and production output to ensure efficient workflow and minimal downtime.
  • Assist with machine setup, tooling changes, changeovers, and production adjustments.
  • Verify work orders, production schedules, and material requirements prior to production runs.
  • Perform and oversee quality inspections to ensure products meet customer specifications and company standards.
  • Troubleshoot equipment, tooling, material, and quality issues and coordinate corrective actions as needed.
  • Coordinate material flow and communicate production needs with upstream and downstream operations.
  • Maintain accurate production records, quality documentation, and operational reports.
  • Promote and enforce compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
  • Communicate production status, equipment concerns, and operational issues to supervisors and management.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance activities and coordinate maintenance support when required.
  • Train and mentor operators on equipment operation, quality requirements, safety procedures, and best practices.
