About The Position

This role involves setting up, adjusting, and operating tube bending machinery and equipment to bend structural metal pipe, tube, bar, etc., according to specifications. The Tube Bender will fabricate directly from drawings, samples, or instructions without supervision, select all necessary layouts, templates, check fixtures, tools, dies, and plane gauge requirements. They will also develop layouts from drawings, samples, or instructions. A key part of the role is to check bent parts against drawing specifications and tolerances using proper measurement and inspection equipment, and to inspect the end product from the bending operation to ensure accuracy. The position also requires maintaining and operating the tube bending equipment, identifying, tagging, and removing non-conforming materials, and completing all required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner. The Tube Bender will perform first article runs and communicate recommendations, operate various material handling equipment including hoist, cart caddy, fork lift, and manual pallet jack, and communicate with other departments as necessary. The role also includes maintaining a clean and orderly work area and equipment, following safety regulations, and performing additional duties or special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • A High School diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy
  • Make decisions based on measurable criteria; and visualize objects in three-dimensions from plans and drawings.
  • Computer competency including Outlook, Word, Excel.
  • Tig welding experience
  • At least three years’ experience in a similar industrial/technical position.

  • Basic understanding of HVAC industry terminology a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with other departments as necessary.
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
  • Performs additional duties or special projects as assigned.
