The TT Die Shop Tech will develop and maintain all extrusion tooling. This role involves exploring new concepts and extrusion equipment, and collaborating with die makers in the development of these tools. The individual must be fully capable of problem-solving and troubleshooting extrusion tooling or machine difficulties, with a thorough knowledge of tire construction and processing procedures. Responsibilities include coordinating and prioritizing all die shop activities, managing MUV control and ETO scheduling, engineering die layouts and cut-outs, and designing preforms and inserts. The role also requires troubleshooting extrusion problems and equipment, maintaining all tooling, and ordering additional or replacement tooling. Staying current on extrusion and die shop technology and equipment is essential. The position also involves driving and tracking departmental improvement initiatives in Six Sigma, Kaizen, TQM, and TPM, participating in TPM, Reliability, and Yellow Belt teams, and acting as a team member on other workgroup teams to manage, identify, develop, and implement continuous improvement projects. Additionally, the TT Die Shop Tech will assist in daily troubleshooting of the manufacturing process in their area of responsibility and adhere to all safety and environmental rules and regulations, ensuring all ESH procedures, policies, and legal requirements are implemented and monitored. This role may not be inclusive of all work required and may be updated as needed.
