Trusted Tester Level I - Web Tester
About The Position
This is a contingent project role for a Web Tester. The position does not exist until the project is awarded. Candidates selected will be asked to confirm availability and sign a contingent commitment letter. No work or compensation begins before award. The role involves testing web content and applications against the federal conformance standard using the government's own test process, and documenting findings for remediation. The Senior Accessibility SME will quality-review test records, which form the basis for compliance reporting to executives and oversight bodies. Consistency, completeness, and speed are important.
Requirements
- Current DHS Trusted Tester Level 5 (or later) certification
- Basic knowledge of the Revised Section 508 Standards.
- One year of accessibility testing experience.
Nice To Haves
- WCAG 2.0 A and AA familiarity.
- Screen reader familiarity with JAWS, NVDA, or VoiceOver.
- Careful documentation habits.
- Willingness to have your work reviewed and corrected.
- Interest in growing into document remediation and advisory work.
Responsibilities
- Perform Section 508 conformance testing of ICT using current approved assessment methods, test reporting tools, and formats.
- Test using the DHS Trusted Tester Conformance Test Process for Web, v5.0 or later.
- Document results completely and accurately in the required format for quality review and program reporting.
- Support technical assistance and remediation guidance work as testing volume allows.
