A Trust Operations Specialist II is responsible for the accounting functions undertaken by the Trust Department in its administration of trusts, agency accounts, estates, conservatorships and IRAs. This role involves accurately posting all transactions on the trust accounting system without direction, understanding cash movement within the system and its effect on trust cash DDA accounts, and preparing and uploading ACH files and outgoing wires. The specialist will also produce, print, and mail trust checks, generate daily cash sweeps across multiple vehicles, and place trades for cash sweeps while sending wires for settlement. Additionally, the role includes processing requests for updates to the trust accounting system database (contact masters, account masters, remittances, ticklers) and is responsible for biweekly FinCen reporting. The position requires demonstrating compliance with all bank regulations, staying updated on regulation changes, and adhering to all Bank policies and procedures. A working knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security, and other applicable regulations is necessary. This role may involve coaching, mentoring, or training others as a subject matter expert, and actively learning and fostering the Columbia corporate culture. The specialist is expected to take personal initiative, be a positive example, and embrace the vision of becoming the “Business Bank of Choice”. Other duties may be assigned.
