Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • 5+ years of previous trust administration experience
  • Detailed understanding of Delaware law
  • Experience managing Delaware directed trusts with complex structures
  • Knowledge of personal trust law and administration
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous experience working in a small team environment

Nice To Haves

  • CTFA preferred
  • International trust administration experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Administer discretionary trust and directed trust accounts, staying current on relevant laws, issues, and topics.
  • Respond to client requests for wire transfers, discretionary payments, currency transactions, bill paying, deliveries/receives, gifts, contributions, acquisitions, and sales.
  • Ensure all transactions comply with the trust agreement and state laws.
  • Act as a point of contact for clients and intermediaries, including accountants, attorneys, and other trusted advisors.
  • Coordinate with the tax department regarding tax issues that arise during trust administration.
  • Review the daily overdraft report to resolve income overdrafts.
  • Coordinate with the Portfolio Manager to raise cash for principal overdrafts.
  • Manage the termination of trusts in collaboration with Trust Counsel, the Investment Department, Tax Departments, and other necessary parties.
  • Oversee the new account opening process from KYC to final funding, including analyzing relevant documents to identify missing legal documentation for compliance.
  • Manage and oversee large, complex client relationships involving trusts, family limited partnerships, GRATs, and foundations.
