We work closely with individuals and families to administer trusts, manage assets, and ensure their long-term goals are carried out with care and precision. We are seeking an experienced, relationship-focused Trust Officer to manage trusts, estates, and other fiduciary accounts while helping grow and deepen client relationships. This role combines technical fiduciary knowledge with client service, business development, risk management, and team leadership. The ideal candidate is client-focused, analytical, detail-oriented, and confident making sound decisions while maintaining the highest standards of ethics and confidentiality.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Four to nine years of trust and fiduciary experience with an emphasis on client service, business development, and trust administration.
Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong client focus, attention to detail, analytical skills, and decision-making ability.

Nice To Haves

Advanced degree or professional certification such as J.D., CTFA, or CPA preferred.
Local market experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Manage trusts, estates, and other fiduciary accounts for clients within an assigned book of business.
Combine technical fiduciary knowledge with client discovery to enhance and deepen existing client relationships.
Maintain current knowledge of and comply with applicable laws and regulations, policies, and procedures.
Identify and mitigate potential risk issues and engage appropriate internal personnel as needed.
Delegate appropriate tasks to Trust Administration support staff.
Develop and maintain relationships with community contacts and professional advisors to identify and win new business opportunities.
Build and maintain a pipeline of clients and opportunities through referrals from current clients, internal business partners, and centers of influence.
Partner with the market team to develop strategies and marketing programs designed to enhance the client experience.
Serve as an ambassador of Trust Administration and Cornerstone Private Asset Trust Company, LLC in the Sioux Falls market.
Represent Cornerstone in the community through leadership opportunities, which may include service on one or more nonprofit boards.
Mentor and support team members on trust and estate products and services.
Collaborate with Trust Administration support staff and internal partners to deliver coordinated client service.
Use sound judgment and clear communication when making fiduciary decisions and addressing client needs.
Contribute to a team environment grounded in accountability, professionalism, and client focus.
