About The Position

Trusser Labor, 2nd shift, Forest, MS May. There are two types of trussing that must be performed (full body and just hocks.) To full body truss, wrap the band around the wing, twist the band, pull band down, push legs into band, and flip bird off the cone onto conveyor. To truss hocks only, pull the bird off the cone, wrap the band around the legs twice, and toss bird onto conveyor. The trusser also grades birds, anything that is missing (body parts or incorrect size) is removed and tossed over into blue tote. Perform all duties assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

Standing 100% of the time.
Ability to work in a cold environment.
Excellent eye-hand coordination.
Must be able to use knives/scissors.
Must have full use of both hands/arms.
Ability to ambulate freely, including stepping up onto stands and moving across wet concrete floors.
Willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
Provide government identification number to verify previous Tyson employment history.
Applicants cannot have worked for Tyson Foods more than 3 times.
Rehires accepted after 365 days.
Tyson reserves the right to require longer waiting periods or not accept rehires based on the reason for dismissal.

Responsibilities

Perform full body trussing by wrapping a band around the wing, twisting it, pulling it down, pushing legs into the band, and flipping the bird onto a conveyor.
Perform hock trussing by pulling the bird off the cone, wrapping the band around the legs twice, and tossing the bird onto the conveyor.
Grade birds, removing and discarding any with missing body parts or incorrect size into a blue tote.
Follow instructions from supervisor.
Keep work area clean.
Wash hands at designated stations when coming on or going off the production floor.
Adhere to all clean room policies.
