Requirements
- Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Responsibilities
- Operates basic saw types such as pop-up, miter, web saws, etc. to cut planks, timbers, or boards according to work orders.
- Reviews work order to determine cut(s) to be made.
- Adjusts saw for required cuts.
- Adjusts speed of saw and feed rolls.
- Observes automatic feeding of lumber to saw or pushes end of lumber into feed rolls.
- Stacks cut lumber after processing.
- Advises supervisor of dull saw blades.
