About The Position

The Sawyer is primarily responsible for all cutting operations performed on the saw. Allegion helps keep people safe and secure where they live, work, and visit. Requirements

  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably experienced in running cutting machines.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to follow cut list dimensions.
  • Able to complete assigned tasks in a limited time frame.
  • Strong organizational and math skills.
  • Remains alert in a high-risk environment.
  • Assesses priorities to determine what is urgently needed.
  • Maintains schedule and tasks in spite of interruptions.

Nice To Haves

  • Metal cutting experience preferred.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Lean manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Check material for defects and correct dimensions.
  • Inspect completed operations for quality, accuracy and quantity and document the operations performed.
  • Expedites material through cutting as required.
  • Organizes the work area & maintains the machines as recommended by manufacturer and supervisor direction.
  • Monitor machine operations as parts are processed to ensure quality and accuracy and per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Prioritize operations to achieve schedule.
  • Allocate materials used to the proper pick-list; Locate & position materials as required from the storage racks to the appropriate cutting center.
  • Schedule cutting operations to ensure on-time delivery per requirements.
  • Verify all operations have been completed as specified on the documents.
  • Perform multiple operations simultaneously often required.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal team members.
  • Train in the use of all relevant equipment.
  • Cross train in other production areas; periodically may need to assist in other work areas as required.
