About The Position

Under the direction of the shop supervisor, the shop mechanic is responsible for Preventative maintenance, repairs and installation of truss production equipment in Sunpro truss facilities. Minor welding abilities.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Responsibilities

Visualize, fulfill, and implement the company vision and core values.
Ensures that all truss equipment is in excellent working condition to avoid downtime and delays in production.
Perform minor electrical repairs (including electronic controls), minor welding repairs, as well as equipment and plant maintenance repairs.
Check and change all oils and perform proper lubrication in equipment.
Maintain tools as required to perform job.
Hold Medical card.
Maintain insurable driving record.
Ensure a safe and healthful work environment at all times. Offer training on best practices on equipment maintenance.
Willing to travel to all truss locations as needed.
Assist in other positions around the shop on an as needed basis. Including but not limited to table builder, sawyer, saw helper, moving and catching trusses, operating a forklift to move trusses and lumber in the yard, delivering trusses and other items to the job site.
