About The Position

The Truck Unloader moves route vehicles to the loading dock, unloads soiled linen, moves the vehicle back, hangs bags of soiled linen onto a rail or conveyor system, sorts linens into different bins, and transfers them to other departments or areas of the facility. The position also performs other tasks as needed, including work in other production positions.

The role is based in production areas of a typical industrial laundry facility. Most work is performed outside at the loading dock. Conditions may include variations in temperature, odors, humidity, lint, and dust. Soiled linens come from customers such as restaurants, hotels, medical facilities, and shops. No travel is required, and no education is listed.

Requirements

• Comprehend and follow direction.
• Recognize colors, sizes, and different products.
• Meet the physical requirements of the job and sustain them for the entire shift.

Responsibilities

• Safely move vehicles to the loading area, unload them, and move them back.
• Sort product and transfer it to different areas of the facility.
• Hang bags of soiled linen onto the rail or conveyor system.
• Assist sort/count workstations as needed.
• Meet the position’s efficiency and safety standards.
• Follow instructions as directed by supervision.
• Work in other production positions as needed.
• Keep the work area clean.
