Truck Unloader
About The Position
The Truck Unloader moves route vehicles to the loading dock, unloads soiled linen, and returns vehicles to their designated area. The employee hangs bags of soiled linen on a rail or conveyor system, sorts linens into different bins, and transfers them to other departments or facility areas. The role may also perform other tasks as needed. Work takes place in production areas of an industrial laundry facility, with most work performed outside at the loading dock. Conditions may include variations in temperature, odors, humidity, lint, and dust. Soiled linens come from a variety of customers, including restaurants, hotels, medical facilities, and shops. The position has no travel requirements and no education requirement. Responsibilities
- Safely move vehicles to the loading area, unload them, and move them back.
- Sort products and transfer them to different areas of the facility.
- Hang bags of soiled linen on the rail or conveyor system.
- Assist sort/count workstations as needed.
- Meet efficiency and safety standards for the position.
- Follow instructions from supervision.
- Work in other production positions as needed.
- Keep the work area clean.
