About The Position
Continental is a leading tire manufacturer and industry specialist that develops and produces sustainable, safe and convenient solutions for automotive manufacturers as well as industrial and end customers worldwide. The Truck Tire Material Handler position is responsible for sorting scrap tires, determining which tires can be repaired and which are scrap, and reporting scrap weight. This role also involves reworking green tires and components to meet quality requirements, following standard practices for production, and adhering to plant safety, environmental, and quality policies. The position requires the ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions regarding specifications, procedures, and quality standards. The job involves medium to heavy work with frequent stooping, twisting, bending, and walking, as well as the ability to lift 50 or more pounds and push/pull medium to heavy tire buggies. The ability to wear a respirator is also required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 0-2 years of manufacturing experience needed
- Must be able to receive written and oral instructions as to specs, procedures, tolerances, and various construction and quality requirements.
- Medium to heavy work.
- Must be able to frequently stoop, twist, bend, and walk long distances.
- Full range of motion in arms, hands and legs, and lift 50 or more pounds on an occasional to frequent basis.
- Occasionally push, pull medium to heavy green tire buggy.
- Ability to wear respirator.
Responsibilities
- Sort scrap tires determining which tires that can be repaired and which ones are scrap.
- Responsible for Scrap 3 weight reporting to supervisor.
- Perform other duties as directed by Tire Building Supervisor, Lead Supervisor or Department Manager.
- Rework green tires and components meeting all quality requirements.
- Follow standard practices and perform all work necessary to obtain quality and quantity production.
- Follow plant Safety policies, Plant policies, Environmental policies, and keep work areas neat, clean, and orderly.
