About The Position

Pape’ Kenworth, a premier medium and heavy-duty truck and equipment dealer in the West, is seeking an Experienced Truck Technician to join their team. The Experienced Truck Technician / Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining and repairing medium and heavy-duty Class 7 & 8 trucks, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and high standards. This role directly supports customer success by keeping their trucks running smoothly and maximizing uptime. Daily tasks include diagnosing and troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical issues, identifying solutions to restore trucks to peak performance, and repairing or rebuilding major components such as cabs, steering systems, engines, transmissions, axles, differentials, brakes, clutches, electrical systems, and air systems. Technicians will have the opportunity to improve skills while working with other trained technicians in a fully equipped shop, with access to the right tools, training, and support to perform top-quality work.

Requirements

  • 2 or more years of experience working on all makes and models of medium and heavy-duty class 7/8 trucks, including engine repair, electronic troubleshooting, HVAC systems, and chassis repair.
  • Candidates with a Diesel tech degree and a mechanical aptitude/background will also be considered.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Self-motivation and assertiveness.
  • Ability to work under little or no supervision.
  • Excellent communication and customer relations skills.
  • Must provide own tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Kenworth Essentials certifications preferred.
  • Cummins and MX software experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and repairing medium and heavy-duty Class 7 & 8 trucks.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical issues.
