About The Position

The Truck Shop Attendant is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and supporting the safe operation of company vehicles, trucks, ATVs, and equipment. This position performs routine inspections, basic mechanical repairs, tire service, preventative maintenance support, and documentation of equipment conditions while ensuring compliance with all safety requirements and site policies.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge with the ability to inspect vehicles and equipment for operational issues.
  • Ability to safely operate pickups, utility vehicles, ATVs, and similar equipment.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Ability to accurately complete inspection forms and maintenance documentation.
  • Reliable, accountable, and consistent in attendance and work performance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, operators, mechanics, and coworkers.
  • Ability to comply with all company policies, safety procedures, and Cheniere site requirements.
  • Must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to safely perform the duties of the position.
  • Must meet all site-specific requirements and successfully complete any required training.
  • Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a DOT Physical if required.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, nights, or rotating schedules as required by project demands.

Nice To Haves

  • Current Zachry employee or former Zachry employee in good standing.
  • Previous experience working on industrial construction, maintenance, refinery, petrochemical, LNG, or heavy industrial projects.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and vehicle inspection requirements.
  • Forklift certification or equipment operating experience.
  • Basic computer skills for completing electronic inspections and records.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily inspections of vehicles, ATVs, and equipment for mechanical deficiencies, maintenance needs, and safety concerns.
  • Ensure all equipment is operated and maintained in accordance with company safety standards and site requirements.
  • Change tires and repair flats on trucks, trailers, and ATVs.
  • Perform minor mechanical repairs and maintenance identified during inspections.
  • Assist mechanics and maintenance personnel with equipment upkeep and repair activities.
  • Follow directions from designated signal persons while operating equipment or vehicles.
  • Plan delivery routes and transportation activities to meet operational schedules.
  • Collect, verify, and communicate delivery instructions.
  • Maintain accurate inspection reports, maintenance records, and other required documentation.
  • Report defects, unsafe conditions, accidents, incidents, and policy violations immediately.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in the shop, yard, and work areas.
  • Support material handling, equipment staging, fueling operations, and other duties as assigned.
