About The Position

The Truck Service Technician will be responsible for working on commercial vehicle engines, troubleshooting customer tire needs, and inspecting vehicles for additional problems. This role involves using various tools and equipment to diagnose and repair vehicle issues, ensuring compliance with federal and state requirements, and maintaining accurate service records. The technician will also be responsible for maintaining a clean service area and may be assigned other duties as needed.

Requirements

Ability to work on commercial vehicle engines.
Ability to work in a fast paced, demanding environment.
Must be able to work independently and also in a team environment doing other job duties as assigned.
Valid driver’s license and CDL class A or B license.
State Inspection license.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Basic automotive skills and general mechanical knowledge.

Responsibilities

Work on commercial vehicle engines.
Troubleshoot customer tire needs.
Inspect vehicles for additional problems.
Use basic hand tools, tire tools, alignment machines, brake lathe, air wrench, and other essential tools to perform the job.
Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests and identifying worn and damaged parts.
Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance schedules, installing component and part upgrades, controlling corrosion, and completing winterization procedures.
Correct vehicle deficiencies by repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems.
Verify vehicle performance by conducting test drives and adjusting controls and systems.
Comply with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
Maintain vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.
Keep a clean service area.
