About The Position
We, at Pacific Rail Services, are looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic for a full-time permanent position in our Bergen, NJ rail terminal in a recession-proof industry. You will be employed directly by Pacific Rail Services and will not be considered an employee of the Railroad. Work Location: CSX North Bergen Terminal 6201 Tonnelle Ave North Bergen, NJ 07047. Compensation: Hourly pay with yearly income potential of $45,000-$60,000 per year (Which includes overtime). Pay rate is commensurate with experience. Shift: Day shift, 24/7 call out available.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2-year experience in the mechanical field
- Preventative maintenance minded
- Must have own tools (Yearly tool allowance provided)
- Must have experience and knowledge working with Air, Electrical, Hydraulic and Diesel systems and components.
- Will need a valid driver's license.
- A valid Driver's License.
- Advanced knowledge of railroad industry from a vocational education institute, apprenticeship, on the job training and/or similar work experience.
- Must be able to pass a 7-year background check. Any felonies in the last 7 years of jail time in the last 5 years will disqualify applicants.
- Must be able to pass a hair follicle drug test.
- Must be able to pass an IPCS Physical Capabilities Test.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair forklifts, company vehicles, and hostler fleet.
- Maintain Hostler Fleet
- Assist in other areas as needed by managers.
