About The Position

A Truck Installation Technician at Reading Truck works under the direction of the Shop Supervisor to install specialty truck equipment, including service utility bodies, stake bodies, dump bodies, hitches, and other commercial truck accessories. The role includes installing truck bodies, plows, accessories, hitches, shelves, drawers, ladder racks, and mud flaps, while following safety rules and PPE requirements. Technicians may train with other mechanics as needed and perform other duties assigned by a Supervisor or Manager.

Reading Truck has more than 65 years of industry leadership in the manufacture, distribution, and enhancement of work truck bodies, with a network of more than 20 locations across North America. Qualified technicians hired at levels II–IV are eligible for a $2,250 sign-on bonus.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of welding skills with metal and aluminum.
• At least 2 years of electrical wiring experience.
• Ability to build schematics.
• Ability to troubleshoot independently.
• Ability to operate power hand tools and have basic tools.

Nice To Haves

• Complex hydraulics knowledge and experience.
• Basic welding experience is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules and comply with all PPE requirements.
• Install truck bodies, plows, and commercial truck accessories.
• Mount hitches, shelves, drawers, ladder racks, mud flaps, and similar equipment.
• Train with other mechanics as needed.
