About The Position

Meyer Truck Equipment is seeking a Truck Equipment Installer to join their team in Evansville. This role involves outfitting trucks and vans with various bodies, equipment, and accessories. The installer will be responsible for tasks such as installing bed covers/toppers, cranes, lighting, lift kits, shelving, racks/bins, power inverters, bumpers, grille guards, winches, snowplows/salt spreaders, and more. A key requirement for this position is wiring and electrical knowledge for installing auxiliary equipment like LED lighting, strobe lights, and inverters. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated troubleshooter who can work effectively with minimal supervision and produce quality work.

Requirements

  • Wiring and electrical knowledge.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and read electrical diagrams.
  • Ability to take things apart and put them back together.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Able to work well with others.
  • Willing to listen and learn.
  • Ability to lift a truck battery.
  • Organized with great attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of the difference between a wrench and a ratchet.
  • Pride in the quality of their work.
  • Willingness to get dirt under their nails and grease on their shirt.
  • High school or equivalent (Preferred).
  • Driver's License (Preferred).

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of hydraulics (1-3 years experience preferred).
  • Knows how to weld or would be willing to get an AWS certification.
  • Vocational degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Outfit trucks and vans with bodies, equipment, and accessories.
  • Install items such as bed covers/toppers, cranes, lighting, lift kits, shelving, racks/bins, power inverters, bumpers, grille guards, winches, snowplows/salt spreaders.
  • Install auxiliary equipment including LED lighting, strobe lights, and inverters.
  • Troubleshoot and perform wiring and electrical installations.
  • Work effectively in a shop atmosphere with little oversight or guidance.
  • Produce quality work.
  • Take things apart and put them back together.
  • Read electrical diagrams.
  • Perform welding or be willing to obtain an AWS certification.
  • Work with hydraulics (1-3 years experience preferred).
