About The Position

At Earthscape, we create beautiful, innovative custom playground sculptures and structures that inspire children and adults to creatively play. By partnering with some of the most prestigious Landscape Architecture firms in North America, we bring brilliant playground concepts to life. Our award-winning design-build firm is located just outside of Elmira, Ontario in Waterloo Region. Together, our ambitious team designs, engineers, builds and installs state-of-the-art timber playgrounds that become iconic and well-loved destination spaces. The work environment we’ve created is positive, productive, fun and rewarding. As our primary AZ Driver, you won’t just be "hauling freight". You are a vital link in our installation process. You will be responsible for transporting materials and heavy equipment to our active construction sites across the KW and GTA regions.

Requirements

  • Valid AZ driver’s license with clean Abstract and CVOR (30 days current)
  • Experience in freight transportation preferably with flat bed to be able to bind and secure loads for transport
  • 3+ years of AZ driving experience
  • Familiarity with safety regulations related to trucking operations
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Self-motivated individual with strong organization skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to operate forklifts, telehandlers, skid steers and other heavy equipment is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Driving a Tri-axle Roll-off Truck and operating Equipment Floats to move excavators, loaders, and playground components
  • Assisting our landscape and playground installation crews by ensuring they have the tools and materials they need, exactly when they need them
  • Maintaining a clean cab and trailer, managing logbooks (electronic/manual), and coordinating with the shop manager for efficient routing
  • Conducting thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections and securing loads with a "zero-incident" mindset as well as to ensure safety and compliance with regulations
  • Communicate effectively with operations and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise
  • Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, routes taken, and deliveries made
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies regarding transportation
  • Assist in loading and unloading freight as needed
