About The Position

The Truck Driver operates a tractor-trailer and/or flatbed delivery truck with a tilt-bed to make ground and dock deliveries. The role loads, secures, transports, and safely unloads equipment and parts at instructed locations. The driver performs daily vehicle inspections, maintains a daily driver’s log, verifies transportation paperwork, keeps the truck clean and presentable, maintains its safety equipment, and performs minor truck maintenance and repairs. The position may also assist with keeping the warehouse clean and organized.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid Class A driver’s license with a hazardous material endorsement and a good driving record.
Ability to safely operate lift trucks.

Nice To Haves

Previous heavy equipment hauling experience.
Ability to maneuver the delivery truck in varied conditions, including backing into and out of areas.
Good written and verbal communication and customer care skills.
Good mechanical and electrical aptitude, with knowledge of electrical/electronic systems, hydraulics, and internal combustion engines.

Responsibilities

Drive and operate a tractor-trailer and/or flatbed delivery truck with a tilt-bed for ground and dock deliveries safely.
Load equipment and parts onto the truck and secure the load with straps, chains, and binders as needed.
Ensure loads are within the truck’s rated capacity and do not exceed maximum height requirements.
Deliver equipment and parts to assigned locations and safely unload them.
Perform daily pre-trip inspections and maintain a daily driver’s log.
Verify that paperwork, including bills of lading, matches the equipment being transported and obtain proper signatures.
Keep the delivery truck clean and presentable.
Maintain safety equipment supplied with the truck.
Perform minor truck maintenance and repairs.
May assist with keeping the warehouse clean and organized.
