About The Position

The Truck Driver operates a tractor-trailer and/or flatbed delivery truck with a tilt-bed to make ground and dock deliveries safely. The role loads and secures equipment and parts, checks that loads stay within the truck’s rated capacity and maximum height limits, and delivers and unloads items at locations as instructed. The driver performs daily pre-trip inspections, maintains a daily driver’s log, verifies shipping paperwork and obtains signatures, keeps the truck clean and presentable, maintains its safety equipment, and performs minor maintenance and repairs. The driver may also help keep the warehouse clean and organized.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Class A driver’s license with a hazardous material endorsement.
• Good driving record.
• Ability to safely operate lift trucks.

Nice To Haves

• Previous heavy equipment hauling experience.
• Ability to maneuver the delivery truck in varied conditions, including backing in and out of areas.
• Good written and verbal communication and customer care skills.
• Good mechanical and electrical aptitudes, with knowledge of electrical/electronic systems, hydraulics, and internal combustion engines.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive and operate a tractor-trailer and/or flatbed delivery truck with a tilt-bed for ground and dock deliveries.
• Load equipment and parts onto the truck for delivery.
• Secure loads using straps, chains, and binders as needed.
• Ensure loads are within the truck’s rated capacity and do not exceed maximum height requirements.
• Deliver and safely unload equipment and parts at locations as instructed.
• Perform daily pre-trip inspections and maintain a daily driver’s log.
• Verify that paperwork, including bills of lading, matches the equipment being transported and obtain proper signatures.
• Keep the delivery truck clean and presentable.
• Maintain the safety equipment supplied with the truck.
• Perform minor maintenance and repairs to the truck.
• May assist with keeping the warehouse clean and organized.
