The person hired for this position will transport containerized USPS mail from the BWI airport to our off-property sorting facility and then back to the airport. We currently have Part-Time positions only. The hours are 2am-6am, and 2:30am-6:30-am.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Clean driver’s abstract
Must possess CDL Class A License
Successful completion of the SIDA airport badging or background check process is required for this location.
Minimum two years’ commercial driving experience
Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform minor vehicle maintenance
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Ability to read and interpret written communication and reports
Sitting while driving for long periods of time in possible inclement weather
Ability to use hands and arms to install, position, move and manipulate items
Ability to climb, balance, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl and handle materials
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
A valid driver’s license is required for this position.

Responsibilities

Operate and navigate company-owned or leased vehicles in excess of four tons including tractor/trailer/tanker, forklift and mechanized equipment
Document, record, and track all required log sheets IAW, FMCSA, DOT and Quantem Aviation Services, Inc requirements
Knowledge of local major and minor roadways and the ability to effectively use maps and direction for efficient travel routing
Identify, troubleshoot and service devices, parts, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of mechanical principles
Service truck with fuel, oil and other fluids and perform preventative maintenance to tractor-trailer
