About The Position

Operate trucks with a capacity of at least 26,001 pounds gross vehicle weight. Deliver cargo while operating a tractor-trailer truck, sometimes over intercity routes, intrastate. Load and unload cargo. Keep truck, and associated equipment, clean and in good working order. Report serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel. Report to a dispatcher any incidents encountered on the road. Monitor road conditions and watch for traffic congestion. Plan routes using maps or satellite tracking; get cargo to site on time, safely. Follow accident procedures if an accident occurs. Follow all applicable traffic laws. Perform pre-trip inspections and record any defects found. Keep a daily log of activities. Record amount and type of cargo being delivered. Transport hazardous materials.

Requirements

  • Valid CDL Class-A license required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience driving a Commercial Motor Vehicle
  • Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations
  • Willing to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendations
  • No recent moving or driving violations
  • Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to relate to people
  • Must have the ability to work individually or as a team
  • Must be self-motivated
  • Must be well organized and detail oriented
