Truck Driver - CDL Class A - Penske Logistics
About The Position
Penske Logistics is hiring full-time Class A CDL truck drivers for a dedicated route transporting automotive parts and supplies from Lancaster, Texas. The position is home daily and follows a Monday-through-Friday schedule, with an 8 p.m. dispatch. The route includes one transfer in San Antonio and one delivery stop. Drivers unload freight as needed and scan products during transfers and deliveries. Drivers operate late-model, Penske-maintained trucks equipped with inward- and outward-facing cameras. The role requires safe, attentive operation of a commercial motor vehicle and responsibility for personal and others’ safety. Drivers represent Penske and its clients while providing customer service and building relationships with accounts. Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL.
- Be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in the state of residence.
- Currently hold or be able to obtain a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card.
- Have 1 year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years, or 2 years of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 5 years.
- Have a 3-year DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents.
- Demonstrate English language proficiency as required by federal law.
- Work the required schedule and at the specified location.
- Complete a Penske employment application and submit to a background investigation, including past employment, education, and criminal history, and drug screening.
- Be able to accept responsibility for personal safety and the safety of others.
- Be able to see and hear; required vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception and adjusting focus.
- Be able to move frequently, stand, walk, sit, handle and feel objects, and reach with hands and arms.
- Be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds frequently and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
- Be legally able to operate a motor vehicle and safely and frequently enter and exit the vehicle and rear cargo area.
Responsibilities
- Transport automotive parts and supplies from Lancaster, Texas.
- Complete a dedicated route with one transfer in San Antonio and one delivery stop.
- Unload freight using pallet jacks, hand trucks, or rolling cages as needed.
- Scan products during transfer and delivery.
- Operate a commercial vehicle safely and maintain a constant state of alertness.
- Represent Penske and its clients and provide customer service to accounts.
