About The Position

This position is responsible for the pickup and delivery of mail, packages, and goods throughout the Oakland campus, branch campuses, and other off-campus University of Pittsburgh properties. The role also includes the weekly pickup and transport of biohazardous waste as needed. The driver must be familiar with the greater Pittsburgh area and possess the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. This role involves the handling and transportation of hazardous materials, though professional personnel are responsible for the actual handling of these materials. The position requires extensive walking, sitting, driving up to six hours daily, and the ability to lift at least 70 lbs. Maintaining courtesy and professionalism at all times is essential. Special projects may be assigned.

Requirements

• Must be familiar with the greater Pittsburgh area and surroundings.
• Ability to prioritize work.
• Requires extensive walking, sitting, driving up to six hours a day, and lifting at least 70 lbs.
• Must be able to work overtime as deemed necessary.
• Must pass a mandatory DOT drug and alcohol screening.
• Must have a satisfactory report from the DMV.
