About The Position

The Truck Driver operates a commercial motor vehicle using safe driving practices to protect the public while transporting live poultry from growers to the processing facility or transporting poultry feed to or from growers. The role is responsible for complying with Department of Transportation (DOT) safety rules and regulations, company policies, and applicable local, state, and federal policies, laws, and regulations.

Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Have a valid Class A CDL and one year of verifiable satisfactory driving record.
Knowledge of Department of Transportation, state, and federal laws.
Ability to read and write legibly.
Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate.
Sound work ethic, honesty, and moral character.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous live poultry tractor-trailer driving experience.
Basic math functions and skills.

Responsibilities

Comply with all Department of Transportation regulations.
Perform and document pre-trip inspections, including tires, oil, fuel, lights, brakes, and hoses.
Assist with loading and unloading the trailer as necessary.
Ensure the load is secure before moving the vehicle.
Maintain proper documentation for equipment, time, trips, weight, and related items.
Clean and wash the truck as necessary.
Report truck and equipment maintenance issues to a supervisor.
Comply with DOT safety rules and regulations, company policies, and local, state, and federal policies, laws, and regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Follow DOT, state, and federal laws and company safety policies and programs.
Wear assigned personal protective equipment (PPE).
