Truck Driver - CDL Class A - Penske Logistics
About The Position
Penske Logistics is hiring full-time Class A CDL truck drivers for home-daily delivery work. Drivers make 15 to 20 daily multi-stop deliveries to stores of a major coffee chain, transporting coffee and milk products in a temperature-controlled, dual-zone refrigerated trailer. The work involves frequent loading and unloading with a hand dolly and lift gate, scanning items as they are unloaded and delivered, and maintaining a professional, courteous manner with customers. The schedule is a five-day work week with a 7:00 AM dispatch time. Weekend work is required, with consecutive days off during the week. Drivers operate late-model Penske Truck Leasing trucks equipped with automatic transmissions and inward- and outward-facing in-cab cameras. The role requires safe, attentive vehicle operation and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Drivers must meet the stated CDL, medical-card, driving-record, and experience requirements, and be able to perform the physical demands of the position.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL; applicants must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in their state of residence.
- Currently hold or be able to obtain a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card.
- At least 1 year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years, or 2 years of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 5 years.
- Three years of DMV/MVR history with two or fewer moving violations or accidents.
- English language proficiency as required under 49 C.F.R. 391.11(b)(2).
- Ability to work the required schedule and at the specific required location, complete a Penske employment application, and submit to a background investigation and drug screening.
- Ability to remain alert and work safely, accepting responsibility for personal safety and the safety of others.
- Ability to see and hear, including close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to move frequently, stand, walk, sit, use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle and safely and frequently enter and exit the vehicle and rear cargo area.
Responsibilities
