About The Position

The primary function of this role is to provide informative equipment demonstrations and training for customers to influence sales, and to deliver equipment to various locations as instructed. The role involves both equipment delivery and demonstration, requiring a blend of driving skills, mechanical aptitude, and customer service abilities.

Requirements

Two-year technical school graduate, high school graduate or GED certification with mechanical training.
Familiarity with larger industrial equipment.
Two years of hauling experience.
Required license to operate a 'long-haul' truck and 'low-boy' trailer or 'flat bed'.
CDL class 'A' license.
Ability to pass DOT physical and drug test.
No physical restrictions preventing operation of trucks, trailers, and other equipment.
Ability to routinely and physically lift/position various parts to perform repairs/service.
Ability to manually handle parts up to 137 pounds, and use mechanical hoist for heavier parts.
Good verbal and grammatical skills for customer interaction and equipment demonstration.
Ability to organize hauling schedule to maximize production.

Responsibilities

Deliver new, used, or rental equipment to customer locations safely and on time.
Obtain necessary delivery permits and maintain required transportation logs and reports.
Perform regular preventative maintenance checks and adjustments on delivery trucks, or obtain proper repair to ensure efficient and safe operations.
Demonstrate divisional equipment to customers upon delivery.
Provide 'HOW TO OPERATE' training to customer employees for all demonstrated equipment.
Perform basic/preventative maintenance mechanical adjustments on delivered equipment to ensure proper operating conditions.
Maintain a neat business appearance and a positive approach to promote excellent customer service.
Encourage customer purchases and rentals by promoting equipment features and reliability.
Perform after-delivery follow-up with customers, answering questions and providing operational assistance/support.
Organize hauling schedule to maximize production.
