About The Position

The Truck Driver is responsible for providing informative equipment demonstrations and training to customers, influencing sales, and delivering equipment to various locations. This role requires a strong understanding of industrial equipment, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to maintain and operate delivery vehicles safely.

Requirements

  • Two-year technical school graduate, high school graduate or GED certification with mechanical training and familiarity with larger industrial equipment.
  • Two years of hauling experience.
  • Possess the required license to operate a 'long-haul' truck and 'low-boy' trailer or 'flat bed'.
  • Hold a CDL class 'A' license.
  • Be able to pass DOT physical and drug test.
  • No physical restrictions which would prevent associate from operating truck, trailers, and other equipment for daily performance of required work.
  • Must be able to routinely and physically lift/position various parts to perform repairs/service and manually handle parts up to 137 pounds, as well as use mechanical hoist for heavier parts.
  • Possess good verbal and grammatical skills to interface with customers and demonstrate equipment with operators.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver new, used, or rental equipment to customer locations safely and on time.
  • Obtain necessary delivery permits and maintain required transportation logs and reports.
  • Perform regular preventative maintenance checks and adjustments on delivery trucks, or arrange for proper repairs.
  • Demonstrate divisional equipment to customers upon delivery.
  • Provide 'HOW TO OPERATE' training to customer employees for all demonstrated equipment.
  • Perform basic/preventative maintenance and mechanical adjustments on delivered equipment to ensure proper operating conditions.
  • Maintain a neat business appearance and a positive approach to promote excellent customer service.
  • Encourage customer purchases and rentals by promoting equipment features and reliability.
  • Perform after-delivery follow-up with customers, answering questions and providing operational assistance/support.
  • Organize hauling schedules to maximize production.
