About The Position

The Truck Driver is responsible for safely transporting materials and equipment to and from job sites, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to safety regulations. Assist with parts runs and other assignments as needed.

Requirements

Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements.
Clean driving record with no major violations.
Proven experience as a truck driver in a construction or similar industry.
Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.

Responsibilities

Operate commercial trucks to transport materials and equipment to designated locations.
Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company safety policies during transportation.
Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on assigned vehicles before and after each trip.
Report any mechanical issues or concerns to the transportation supervisor promptly.
Safely load and unload materials and equipment onto trucks, ensuring proper securing and balancing of cargo.
Verify the accuracy of cargo manifests and shipping documentation.
Plan efficient routes to minimize travel time and fuel consumption while considering road conditions and traffic patterns.
Utilize GPS navigation systems and maps to navigate unfamiliar routes.
Maintain effective communication with dispatchers, supervisors, and other team members to coordinate transportation activities.
Report any delays, accidents, or incidents immediately to the appropriate personnel.
Ensure compliance with all applicable transportation regulations, including weight restrictions, hours of service, and hazardous materials handling.
Complete and submit accurate transportation logs, trip reports, and inspection records as required.
Provide courteous and professional customer service to clients, vendors, and other stakeholders during transportation activities.
Handle inquiries, complaints, and requests promptly and professionally.
Follow established procedures and protocols in case of emergencies, accidents, or breakdowns during transportation.
Take appropriate actions to ensure the safety of cargo and other road users.
Practice environmentally responsible driving habits, such as minimizing idling and reducing fuel consumption.
Properly dispose of waste materials and hazardous substances in accordance with company and regulatory guidelines.
