About The Position

Joyce Steel Erection, Ltd., a part of the global industrial organization Marmon Holdings (backed by Berkshire Hathaway), is seeking a Truck Driver. This role involves driving vehicles with a capacity greater than 26,000 GVW for picking up or delivering goods, packages, or equipment. The position may require loading or unloading the vehicle's contents. The company operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and requires flexibility in scheduling and travel. The driver will also assist with crane operations, including attaching loads, signaling the crane operator, and aiding in assembly/disassembly under supervision. Maintaining job site cleanliness, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring safety are key aspects of the role. The driver will also be responsible for long-distance deliveries, refueling, cleaning the vehicle, reporting incidents, following traffic laws, inspecting the truck, keeping logs, and planning routes. A positive attitude with customers is expected.

Requirements

Requires commercial driver license.
Be able to pass a DOT physical, drug and alcohol screen, and 7-year background check.
Have basic mechanical skills.
Must have a flexible schedule, and be able to travel and work all days and times.
Must follow direction from supervision.
Must follow direction from crane operator.
Have basic knowledge of crane and rigging considerations (hitches, shackles, load angles, load weights, center of gravity, tag line, etc.).
Must have a valid Class A CDL drivers license, and keep it up to date.
Must be able to inspect pre-trip items on truck and trailer.
Wear required personal protective equipment while performing work.
Have a clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

Mentor other drivers, crane helpers, etc.

Responsibilities

Assist with assembly/disassembly under supervision of the crane operator.
Be assigned the designated signalman to help the crane operator attach, lift, move, and set loads.
Aid in cleanliness and housekeeping on job site and mobile equipment.
Inspect pre-trip items on truck and trailer.
Perform routine maintenance.
Wear required personal protective equipment while performing work.
Mentor other drivers, crane helpers, etc.
Drive long distances to deliver crane parts to job site on time.
