About The Position

Aquatrans Distributors Inc. requires an experienced Class 1 Truck Driver, based out of Delta, BC. This position involves operating and driving primarily tractor-trailer, long-combination vehicles. The role includes moving loaded B-trains, accessing the ports of Vancouver, and completing reefer work. The driver will be responsible for performing trip inspections, complying with applicable legislation, reporting vehicle defects, and maintaining accurate logs and documentation.

Requirements

• Class 1 drivers’ license
• 2 years of tractor-trailer experience
• Safety conscious and safe operator

Nice To Haves

• B-train experience
• Container drayage experience
• Experience accessing the Ports of Vancouver

Responsibilities

• Perform trip inspections on equipment operated and the load, ensuring safety and roadworthiness, and maintaining proper logs of working hours and of vehicle service repair status
• Comply with applicable legislation including safe operation, carriage of goods, driver’s hours of service, occupational health and safety, transportation of dangerous goods, and weights and dimensions
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles
• Record and maintain required documentation including but not limited to driver logbook, bills of lading, inspection logs, delivery receipts, etc. by manual or electronic means
• Maintain accurate driver logs
• Operate truck and trailer in safety minded way
• Report vehicle deficiencies
• Transport various goods across the Lower Mainland
• Access the ports of Vancouver
• Move loaded B-trains
• Transport containers
• Other duties may be required
