Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Requires a valid Indiana drivers license.
  • Must obtain Material Handling Safety Training certification within 2 weeks of hire date.
  • Requires heavy pushing and pulling.
  • Requires the continuous ability to lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist.
  • Requires the continuous ability to lift up to 20 pounds from waist to over-the-head routinely.
  • Requires the continuous ability to carry up to 25 pounds.
  • 5-7 years of related experience is required.
  • Requires experience in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Requires the ability to operate manual and motorized material handling equipment.
  • Requires long periods of standing.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous driving experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Loading, transporting, and delivering/unloading IU Health supplies and equipment to various IU Health facilities via Box truck.
  • Responsible for same-day routes/deliveries.
  • Ensures trucks are prepared for departure and delivered on time.
  • Assists with analyzing routes for delivery optimization.
  • Inspects vehicles for potential safety concerns prior to departure.
  • Maintains thorough delivery log documentation.
  • Uses a Warehouse Management System or ERP Software to perform cycle counts, picking, put away, and shipping functions.
  • Prepares bill of lading.
  • Reports quality and safety concerns in a timely manner.
  • Troubleshoots issues real time for resolution and escalates concerns.
  • Trains team members on routes and safety checks.
  • Coordinates vehicle preventive maintenance schedules and maintains maintenance records.
