About The Position

Responsible for delivering commodities utilizing a company vehicle with an attached 48–53-foot trailer. Transporting to local locations usually on a one-day basis.

Requirements

Strong commitment to human and civil rights.
Must have an favorable driving record.
Michigan CDL endorsement Group (B) and all proper Michigan medical certifications required.
Knowledge of proper lifting procedures and ability to lift 35 pounds as needed.
Oral and written communication skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Proficient in Outlook.
Ability to interact with staff, students, parents, and visitors at school while remaining professional, polite, and courteous.
Must obtain, annually renew and possess during working hours a Medical Examiner’s Certificate for commercial driver medical certification. Medical Examiner's Certificate (also known as a DOT Medical Card).

Nice To Haves

Three to five years over the road experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Report to the Central Warehouse Manager for daily assignment of deliveries.
Complete and submit inspection sheets and log sheets as required.
Make sure all bills of lading, package slips, and shippers are turned in to the Food Center Manager or Food Center Supervisor after each run.
Assist in Central Warehouse when there is no driving assignment.
Report any delays in loading or unloading immediately to management.
Maintain listing of emergency numbers, procedures and contacts in vehicle.
Responsible for State of Michigan and Focus Hope daily and periodic maintenance truck logs.
Deliver food boxes to participating agencies.
Perform related duties as assigned.
