About The Position

Our site in Prairie View Texas is seeking an over the road truck driver to join our team. This role is Monday-Friday, with work hours as needed to complete the job per Federal driving regulations. May have to work some weekends. The primary responsibility is providing customer delivery of chemicals and safely operating a diesel, multi-geared bobtail truck/pup and/or tractor-trailer combination vehicle over various terrains. This role also involves the preventative maintenance of vehicles used for chemical delivery and adherence to all safety procedures and practices.

Requirements

  • Must have a current Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL), issued by the state in which the candidate resides with Tanker endorsement and Medical Card.
  • Three (3) years commercial driving experience, aligned with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and DOT regulations, in the past five years required.
  • Acceptable motor vehicle record for past 5 years.
  • Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • HS Diploma

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with the operation of forklifts, drum dollies, trailer hoists, chemical pumps, hoses, meters, printers and gauges.
  • Experience with handling products in various types of packages including bulk and drums.
  • Experience in customer relations.
  • Experience performing warehouse duties, which include preventative maintenance duties, inventory and ordering of chemicals, receiving incoming shipments, coordinating warehouse for safe and efficient chemical storage, operation of customized chemical manufacturing equipment and the upkeep of warehouse grounds.
  • Awareness of chemical safety and the measures to take in the event of skin contact or spill.

Responsibilities

  • Providing customer delivery of chemicals and safely operating a diesel, multi-geared bobtail truck/pup and/or tractor-trailer combination vehicle over heavily congested city highways, rolling and mountainous terrain, rural and oil lease roads.
  • Performing preventative maintenance of any type of vehicle used to deliver chemicals to customers, plants and/or warehouse locations.
  • Abiding by all safety procedures and practices applicable to location and position; participating in appropriate safety training; demonstrating dedication to and support of EH&S principles and values; championing safety as vital.
  • Loading trailers and scheduling daily runs to meet customer delivery requirements.
  • Maintaining truck and equipment in a safe and operable condition at all times by performing daily and periodic mechanical and safety inspections.
  • Ensuring accurate up-to-date delivery location maps and operating in accordance with DOT regulations governing the transportation of hazardous materials in accordance with homeland security requirements and guidelines.
  • Maintaining driver's hours of service and logbook reporting.
  • Maintaining regular communication with the fleet office and supervisor in order to report field problems and/or safety hazards.
  • Wearing appropriate safety gear at all times during delivery operations.
  • Keeping current on safety techniques and taking advantage of all opportunities to improve driving and safety skills.
  • Recognizing and avoiding safety hazards in the work environment.
  • Performing other duties assigned by management that fall within the generally encouraged scope of this position.
