About The Position

Smash My Trash of Wichita is seeking an experienced Truck Driver to operate our Smash Truck on a full-time basis. This role involves driving a large truck, operating hydraulic equipment to smash trash in dumpsters, and contributing to environmental sustainability by reducing disposal costs for customers. The position generally operates Monday through Friday and reports directly to the owner of Smash My Trash of Wichita. Responsibilities include following quality control procedures, collaborating with the Account Manager for demos and events, maintaining the truck and equipment, performing pre and post-trip inspections, using mobile apps for various tasks, and attending training sessions.

Requirements

  • Current Driver's License.
  • A minimum of 2 years driving and operating trucks of similar size.
  • At least a high school diploma.
  • Able to handle a physical workload.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to stick to a route schedule in a timely and safe manner.
  • Team player who works well with others and can collaborate.
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of urgency and a client service mentality.
  • Willing to participate in a background check and drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • CDL preferred.
  • Experience driving a big truck and operating equipment with hydraulics (e.g., dump truck, firetruck/engine, garbage truck).
  • Experience operating Dump Trucks, Garbage Trucks, Backhoes, ambulances, Fire Trucks, Buses.
  • A good sense of humor.
  • Someone who gets a kick every time our SMASHER crushes our clients’ trash!

Responsibilities

  • Driving a 25,000-pound truck on a daily customer route.
  • Operating the hydraulic Smash machine equipment to smash trash in dumpsters.
  • Following all quality control procedures to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Working as a team member and facilitating SMASH demos to prospects with the Account Manager.
  • Assisting the Account Manager at area events by bringing the Smash My Trash truck and answering technical questions.
  • Maintaining the truck and equipment, including reporting issues, performing inspections, and keeping the truck clean.
  • Performing pre and post-trip inspections daily and basic maintenance.
  • Using mobile apps for routing, data entry, photography, and maintenance reporting.
  • Attending training events to stay updated on truck features, upgrades, and operating procedures.
